Get There First - Enhance Your Acceleration
This 6 week online programme is a variation of the “Get There First” beginner ebook series, focusing specifically on Acceleration and designed to improve your speed and ability to leave your opposition behind. It is packed with mobility exercises to help you achieve the correct range of motion and therefore body positions to accelerate, progressive drills and exercises to encourage maximal intent and force application – to help you become a more explosive and ultimately faster athlete! It is perfect for supplementary pre-season preparation! Accompanying videos will allow you to view correct exercise techniques and access cues & tips before you carry them out.
PROGRAMME AIMS
Weeks 1-2: Establish key positions: standing start, opposite arm / leg, push from front foot, body lean, high knee lift.
Weeks 3-4: Maintain "stiff" ankles (toes-up), and establish powerful linear arm drive, and "stabbing" action down & back.
Weeks 5-6: Improve "switching" of the limbs with intent and piston action down & back.
